2010 Yellowfin Owners Tournament Info!!!

We are starting to get close and the event is coming together nicely. I spoke with my contact at Hawks Cay yesterday and she said that it is starting to fill up, we already have over 30 reservations!

It looks like the schedule will be pretty much be the same as last year but with some time changes, I will post soon. I was asked by several owners last year if they could get involved and donate either product for the Saturday raffle or product for the captains bags. We are starting to get the captains bags together, so if any owners want to donate anything please email me. yfyachts@yahoo.com

Also, those of you who have not emailed me your boat name, size and number of people in your party including kids please do so soon. We need to have an accurate head count for the breakfast, dinners and for the kids trophies.

Just watched the latest episode of Saltwater Experience with Rich Tudor and Tom Rowland. Show was a recap of last year's gathering/tournament at Hawk's. Very cool.

Great showcase for Wylie, Kevin, Richard and the rest of the gang. Impressively done.

And yes, Brett, you did have a few moments of airtime on the footage!

The format for the 2010 Yellowfin Owners Event will be very similar to last years format. The best story wins! Each boat will be given a "Yellowfin Story Sheet" at the Captains Meeting. The next day you go fishing. You can target Offshore Fish, or Inshore Fish, or both! Go out, have fun, take photos with your digital camera, and when you get back write down your story about your day on the water. While catching a big fish helps your case, your chances of winning will be improved if you did it in dramatic fashion...or if you overcame a hardship....or if your kid captured the fish....and so on. Be creative!


We will offer First, Second, and Third Place Trophies for the Offshore and the Inshore divisions. In addition, the winner of each Division will get their name etched into the huge "Factory Based" Championship trophies.

Every kid that competes in the event will also get a trophy.

This is a "Best Story" Tournament. The event begins when you arrive. There is no "Check-Out". Fish and play anytime you want. Take photos, and enjoy. I am sure everyone will have a great story by Saturday night! I will be waiting at the dock for your SD cards and story sheets on Saturday Afternoon.

Remember, the "Best Story" wins!
