Mystery gas tank

Yesterday I took my 24 on a long extended fishing trip and we probably covered about 140 miles. Towards the end of the day we came back in some rough seas. When we returned we headed over to Campos Marina to fill up and we could only put $20.00 of gas and/or 5.5 gallons of gas in my tank. Is there some kind of check valve that might be stuck?? We see no evidence of water in the tank and the motor runs fine.

Hi Biloxi24yf,

I currently have a Renaissance Marine 246 Prowler down in Ft. Beauregard Marina Estates in Shell Beach. The boat is up for sale because my wife is worn out with the offshore fishing and we are looking at going back to inshore fishing. We use to have a Triton 220LTS and it was a nice boat, but it doesn't seem to be anywhere near the same class of build as the Yellowfin.
Did you water test any other Bay Boats such as Shearwater, Champion, etc?

We use to fish the Biloxi Marsh allot, but we had to come across Lake Borgne which was always rough. How often can you run at 62 MPH back home to Biloxi in open water. Does this boat handle well in 2-3 foot seas?

Do you think the 300 HP Yamaha would be a good choice in engines as a second choice compared to the 350?
