i currently have a toyota tundra (w/ the 5.7 engine). since i started looking at yellowfins, i figured i would step up to a 2500 hd (diesel). it will live on a lift mostly, but we travel for tournaments and will need to be towed at times, and i may trailer it in the winter when the ramps are less crazy. my question, would the tundra be enough to handle it? says it can tow 9600 lbs i think. i am leaning towards no, but wonder if anybody uses a half ton for their 32. also, i wouldnt really mind an excuse to get my hands on that new 2500. thanks for helping a newbie...

I would not tow a 32' with a tundra. I have a 32' and tow it with a 02 F250 diesel from Winter Haven to ft Lauderdale quite frequently and have really no problems. But I do wish it was a dually.

Agreed. Towing #'s don't tell the whole story. Bigger platforms like the 2500 and F250+ will allow for better stability and stopping. Even if the Tundra could handle it, it would be at or very near the max, and that's not worth it.

thanks guys. i have no doubt my tundra could yank her out of the water and drive on down the road. but for long distance towing i dont think it would cut the mustard. south carolina to fort pierce or biloxi is a long haul. anybody want to buy an 08 tundra, all blacked out, w/ 35k on her? partial trade for a 32?
