I love the Yellowfin 32 and it is truly a top of the line center console but I was wondering since YF is a semi custom boat,Is there any way a bunk (bed) setup could be designed in the console as done on in the SeaHunter 35? I don't want a walkaround/express but need some sort of overnight sleeping for 2 to 3 guys. Comfortable? It doesn't have to be, just something to to get out of the elements. The 32 YF is my dream boat but I can't justify spending that much money with no sort of sleeping arrangement(it doesn't have to be extravagant just simple). Thank you for your input and this would really be a sweet setup out here on the Left Coast. Brandon

Your best bet is to e-mail Wylie and ask him. You can find his e-mail address on yellowfinyachts.com. If I remember correctly it's yfyachts@aol.com. All of us here can speculate as to whether Yellowfin would work with you on this but your best bet if to go to the top and start there since it's Wylie who would ultimately make the decision.
If you want my speculation, I would have to say that the answer would probably be a no. While it is a semi-custom boat, making the console big enough would require a lot of work. I'm pretty sure that the hull/cap/liner are designed around your choice of 2 console options, the standard or the Key West, and neither of these is big enough to fit a bunk in I don't think. So to make a console big enough to accomodate a bunk would require all new molds for both the console and hull/liner/cap and could probably be done but not without a huge investment of both time and money. But as I said, that's my opinion and I can't say for sure so ask Wylie, the worst he could do is say no.

Id rather sleep on the deck than sleep inside a tight space with 2-3 guys. ;D When we used to go to the Bahamas (in my 21' Mako) we used to have a huge piece of canvas that we would stretch from one side to the other and roll all the way forward over the bow making the entire front of the boat enclosed from the rain or wind. Kind of like a giant dodger, we would live on the boat for a week with two people to a boat. Those were the die hard days.

I had a dogger made by keith and the crew for my 32 and it works great to get the kids out of the sun or to sleep 2. I have a coffin so it takes up the third spot. It only takes a few minutes to put it up and it is first rate for quality. I had a fresh water tank added also so spend an over night or two would not be a problem.
