Props for 36

Had the and verado's upgraded to the new HD lowers and was wondering what opinions on props were? Running 23 Mirage Plus's and was seeing 62-63 half load to lite load with old lowers now barely getting 58.5, mid range stayed about the same seems mpg may have dropped a tad but not that bad. Also sheared a prop shaft clean off after only 35 hours on Saturday.

Damn, prop shaft already? Are you throttling the boat or just letting it bark?

No try to throttle them as much as you can with the DTS. It was outta Port last Saturday so we really didnt bark them at all as flat as it was. Mercury is stepping up though (even though motors just ran outta warranty) they are sending new lower and new prop. If work can maintain through fall I am going to repower.

You have the silver 1.75 HD or just the new beefier 1.85 gear ratio? I have 2012 300s and 1.85s. Running 23 Mirage and had cup added because was truning 6450rpm light. I can trim higher now and faster but best 66-67 very light. Some are running Rev4s with the bells cut. Little loss of speed but better bite - and I was told it would help with barking some. I was happy with the mirages until I started running with very heavy loads/diving and the 3 blades don't handle the load well. I may switch to Rev4s. Ken at Propgods may be of help too.
