Default water always in the bilge in a new boat

    • Cabela's Waterfowl Classic
Is it typical to have 3 inches of water sitting at the bottom of the bilge all the time? The boat is a new 36 and is kept in the water.Bilge works and clears it out when turned on but there is still a residual inch of water in the bottom after the bilge stops pumping. Is this normal?

486 views and no one can say whether they have some water in the bilge or not? Is it a dry bilge or should I expect some water at all times?

I run a 24 CE so I can answer your question i would post it on the YF owner Facebook page I am sure you will get some responses. But I don't think you should be gretting water in there unless in a rain storm or something has a slow leak or over flowing live well.

Water gets trapped by the stepped hull when washing the boat. When you plane off the water moves back to the bilge. with my 29, i ran the jack high when parked. With my 36, it does not happen as much. not sure why.
